- introducing content-based information in English to give background on the civil war in Guatemala
-
introducing a grammatical concept to students prior to coming to class (it worked really well that day if they hadn't done the EdPuzzle that they would have to watch it in class and wouldn't be able to participate in the Kahoot game). This saved me class time for the initial explanation and allowed kids to watch parts they needed to more than once.
- voicing over a video that I wanted to use for another repetition of a story.
- creating my own video . This was more of a process, so I left this for after I had done some more simple ones. (I started with the story in Google Presentation, exported it to a PDF and then opened it in the app Explain Everything. I then voiced over it with Explain Everything and then exported it to the Camera Roll and then uploaded to Google Drive. From there I uploaded it to EDpuzzle where I added the questions. Sounds like a lot of steps, but all things considered it was a fluid process.
I embedded the examples listed above to save you time and just be able to directly see what I was describing. I would definitely recommend starting with something like example 1 or 2 to start with, as 3 and 4 were significantly more time consuming to create.
